Research Statement

Ting 徐婷 joined Queen’s Law School as a lecturer in December 2012. She holds an LLB from Sun Yat-sen University and an LLM (with Distinction) and PhD from the London School of Economics. Before joining Queen’s, she worked as a research fellow at the London School of Economics on an interdisciplinary and collaborative European Research Council funded project. She was also a postdoctoral research fellow at the Asia Research Centre, London School of Economics. Her main research interests are in the fields of law, governance and development, property law, property and human rights, socio-legal studies, Chinese law, comparative law, and political economy. She is also a research affiliate of Queen’s University Centre for Economic History http://www.quceh.org.uk/research-affiliates.html. She was awarded a scholarship for her master’s studies and a Research Studentship and a Vincent Cheng full Scholarship by the LSE for her PhD research. In 2013, she was awarded a British Academy Conference Grant (with Patrick O’Brien, approximately £20,000) for organising an international conference on knowledge formation and the history of books. She is Principal Investigator of a project 'Diversifying Ownership of Land?: Communal Property in the UK and China' funded by the British Academy International Mobility and Partnership Scheme 2014-17: http://www.communalpropertyresearchnetwork.org/
